Skateboard Shannen Remote Control Toy Doll Mattel 1998 Vintage - PARTS OR REPAIR

This is a lovely vintage Skateboard Shannen toy by Mattel, offered
for parts or repair
. Made in 1998, it includes the doll with outfit and helmet, skateboard, and remote control.  The doll is in great condition. She balances well on the skateboard, and all joints are appropriately flexible.  The skateboard and remote control look good, but unfortunately, the remote is not working.  I suspect the problem is with the skateboard, as the battery compartment shows some corrosion (see photos).  The wheels on the skateboard rotate and change direction freely.
Requires (4) AA batteries and (1) 9-v battery (not included).
