Bottle embossed on base
: "
HEINZ / NO. 26
". The embossing is very, very light, almost like ghost embossing that you can just see a trace of. (
See 2nd picture for base embossing
) Then under the Heinz you can faintly see the "
NO. 26
", and you have to really look hard to see it, but it is there
.
Condition
: Bottle is in good condition. It has wear, some lip roughness/flakes, mostly that cloudy white stain. Otherwise it has NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc
.

insurance. We have enjoyed shipping our items all over the world and are happy to offer most of our items to international buyers. Yet insuring International parcels is very expensive so PLEASE NOTE; we do
NOT
insure International orders unless winning buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance quote. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and send payment acknowledgments and shipping confirmations. Your prompt payment will assure a very quick turn-around time.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If our shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what
YOU
pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the
ACTUAL
shipping costs! This is especially important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are rough estimates

As a bottle collector for a long, long time, we've paid attention to what were the scarce Heinz bottles and what were the common or newer ones. According to a reference book we have that discusses Heinz bottles, this is a bottle that "
supposedly contained Celery Sauce
". This could explain why you don't ever see these bottles as celery sauce is not something that really caught on. I don't remember seeing it on the shelf of the grocery store so I think it was a short lived product which adds up to a rare or scarce bottle. NOTE that back in the day, Celery was viewed as a plant/food of highly medicinal value. Many of the old patent medicines had a celery/cocaine base which is why people were always going back for more, it made them feel so good. Here's what the Heinz information says about Celery, related to this Celery Sauce bottle ... "
Celery has long been recommended as a Brain and Nerve food. Our CELERY SAUCE contains all of the medicinal properties of the fresh Celery plant and will meet the wants of all those who suffer by NERVOUS PROSTRATION, LOSS OF APPETITE, and aids digestion .... Celery has long been known to the medical world as a NERVE FOOD, and HEINZ'S CELERY SAUCE Contains these medicinal qualities, hence it is found to be healthful.
FIRST
- IN all cases of Nervous Diseases.
SECOND
- IT is a most excellent Appetizer.
THIRD
- IT is a great Aid to Digestion ...
" I believe this to be a truly SCARCE Heinz bottles, one that is rarely seen. It was found in an old Montana mining camp,
